Two persons were killed while another was critically injured in a road accident Saturday morning along the national highway in Barangay San Teodoro, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur province.
Field reports received at the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) headquarters here from the Agusan del Sur provincial police office identified the fatalities as Nera C. Deque and Gina D. Havana, both of Barangay San Teodoro.
The injured victim, Rolando H. Deque, is currently confined at the Bunawan District Hospital, police said.
Investigation showed that Rolando was driving his motorcycle with his wife Nera and her friend Gina as back riders when they were sideswiped by a 10-wheeler truck driven by Joel A. Macalos.
Due to the strong impact, the two women were thrown off the motorcycle towards the path of the truck which hit them and caused their instantaneous death.
Macalos voluntarily surrendered to the Bunawan Municipal Police Station after the incident. (PNA)
