Mayor Jerry P. Treñas had expressed his disappointment on the lackluster performance of the Mandurriao Philippine National Police (PNP) station headed by CInsp. Conrado Carganillo over an escaped prisoner while on custody of the police station last Monday.
Treñas said he had asked the police official of PNP Station 5 to report the incident and explain the escape of Robert Baltazar, 24 years old, resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao who is a well-known drug pusher.
The Mandurriao PNP was also under fire last week after three newly promoted police inspectors were complained by a taxi driver who was mauled by the three for refusing to ferry them from a bar to their destination. The taxi driver said he was contracted to wait by a customer and that the three police inspectors were heavily drunk.
Similarly, the city mayor also reported to the local media that CInsp. Musa Amiong, deputy chief of the city mobile group, is under investigation over the incident at Barangay Pala-pala Zone 2 last week.
Amiong was reported by some barangay residents to be “harassing†them while in civilian clothes but armed and going around the barangay looking for houses with streamers of the city mayor. - PNA
