South Cotabato Convergence Team in Tantangan

43 Households  to Benefit from Provincial Government Services at Sitio Upper Mayada, Tantangan

The South Cotabato Convergence Team in coordination with the  Barangay Affairs Unit (BAU) recently conducted a profiling and consultation dialogue at Sitio Upper Mayada, Barangay Libas, Tantangan, South Cotabato.

Forty-three (43) households consisting of 222 individuals mostly indigenous people identified living in the area depend on farming as their main source of livelihood.

Mr. Brian De Eyoy and Mr. Rommel Evangelio of PPDO, and Mr. Adonis Sollano of BAU assessed and evaluated the water source and the road access of the area while Mr. Alfredo Galino Jr. of PPDO did the profiling and orientation to the community on the services being rendered by the provincial government of South Cotabato.

“One of the objectives of Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. is to reach out to the poorest of the poor sitios in every barangay of South Cotabato and Sitio Upper Mayada was one of them. After the completion of profiling and assessments, we will present this to the Governor for consideration and immediate action,” De Eyoy said.

During the dialogue, the community raised the following as their primary needs: road network, potable drinking water, sanitary toilet, and livelihood.

Mingo Mayada, a pioneering resident of Sitio Upper Mayada, extends his gratitude for the help and initiative of the provincial government in their area.

“Nagapasalamat kami kay ang gobyerno na ang gapalapit sa amon subong, sadto nagakaupod pa ang amon mga sapatos ka balik-balik sa gobyerno para lang sapakon ang amon mga gina pangayo nga mga proyekto. Madamo gid nga salamat kay Gov kay gina lantaw nya gid ang amon mga priority needs, nakita gid namun nga seryoso ang administrayon nga ini nga ipatuman ang mga ginapangako nga mga proyekto sa amon,” Mayada said.
