High-powered firearms and ammunitions have been confiscated during a raid conducted at a barangay in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Reports reaching here said the raid was conducted by the joint forces of Negros Occidental Provincial Public Safety Management Company and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Last Saturday, the raiding operatives pounced on the house of subject person Elmojer Arenio at Purok Malinog, Brgy. Binikwil, Kabankalan City.
Unfortunately, the subject person was not around during the raid.
But by virtue of the strong search warrant issued by the local court, the raiding operatives search the suspect’s house that led to the recovery of one M16 armalite rifle with three magazines fully loaded with live ammos, one .45 caliber pistol and two magazines fully loaded with live ammunitions, voluminous empty shells of various caliber of firearms.
The successful raid was conducted based on report received by PNP authorities that the suspect is hiding cache of high-powered firearms.
The recovered firearms were brought to the headquarters of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate criminal charges against a suspect who is still at large. (PNA)
