ENVIRONMENTAL VIOLATOR. The town of Arteche, Eastern Samar is one of the 25 Local Government Units of Eastern Visayas that is violator of Solid Waste Management Act or RA 9003. Seen here is the burning of garbage along the national road of their town.EMB-DENR 8 Regional Director Engr. Letecia B. Maceda is questioning why the said town was awarded "SEAL OF GOOD HOUSEKEEPING" from the DILG when it is a violator! Engr. Maceda said the LGU did not seek clearance from them. The National Solid Waste Commission is now investigating the violation of LGU Arteche and the other LGUs.
