PRO 8 Distributes Food Packs to Muslim Families
Press Release: Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte - As the Muslim Community observes the Holy Month of Ramadan, Police Regional Office 8 joined in the nationwide simultaneous conduct of food packs' distribution to our Muslim brothers earlier today, April 17, 2021.
The activity is in consonance to the command of PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Chief PNP, to initiate the giving of assistance to the Muslim community during the duration of this celebration.
The Office of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (ORCADD), led by PLTCOL JOSE MANUEL PAYOS, Officer-In-Charge, led the distribution of food packs containing noodles, canned goods, milk and rice, to around 150 Muslim families at Brgy. Naga-naga, Tacloban City.
PBGEN RONALDO F DE JESUS, Regional Director, directed all PNP personnel of this PRO to pay respect and to show support to the observance of Ramadan which started on April 13, 2021 and will last until May 12, 2021.
“This our opportunity to show our Muslim brothers and sisters that we are one with them in this religious celebration. May this year's Ramadan spark a new hope for healing, unity, peace and progress, especially in this time of pandemic,” he said.
