BONTOC, Dec. 29 (PIA) -- About 28 portable street lamps were given to the 16 barangays of this capital town thru the initiative of Councilor Constancio Miranda as a way of assisting and guiding the way of the people.
The portable street lamps were distributed and turned over to every barangay chairman, who shall be responsible for its preservation and safekeeping the street lamp in their respective barangay.
Accordingly, Miranda considered this project of giving portable street lamps to different barangays since he had been observing in different occasions that most barangay roads are without lights and dark at night. He believes that the street lamps will be beneficial most especially on occasions such as weddings, gatherings, parties, programs and the like.
The portable street lamps still uses current to be functional, however; there is only minimal charge to electricity, he claimed.
The number of street lamp for each barangay depends on how large the area is. The larger the coverage, the more street lamps will be given that does not exceed to three street lamps each barangay. The turn-over of the street lamps started second week of December.
