Press Release: The first portable toilet facilities with integrated Vertical Helophyte Filter System have been deployed at Andap National Highschool, located at New Bataan, Davao de Oro, Region XI.
This project, to improve the sanitation in remote areas, has been implemented by the Dost Region XI, funded by DOST-CEST and deployed under the Wastewater Treatment System Upgrading Program "WATSUP" and Public Sanitation & Hygiene Upgrading Program "PUSHUP".
The facility has two female & two male toilets, one four chamber septic system and one 12sq.m VHFS to naturally treat the wastewater before discharge into the natural environment. The toilet facilities are made from HPL plates and stainless steel which is fireproof, waterproof and built to last.
