Press Release: Talaingod, Davao del Norte, February 2, 2021 – The Local Government Unit of Talaingod’s Municipal Mayor Jonnie “Onit” A. Libayao inspires thirty eight (38) prime leaders of various People’s Organizations (POs) from different sitios in the municipality in today’s People’s Organizations General Assembly conducted by the 56th Infantry “Tatag” Battalion at the Balimba Hills Activity Center, Sitio JBL, Brgy Sto. Niño, this municipality.
Mayor Onit stressed that being the mayor of Talaingod and in coordination with the LGU Department Heads, Municipal Vice Mayor Francisco Gipulla Jr. and all the Sangguniang Bayan Members, strives to push the realization of the current development initiatives, and particularly thanked President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for the issuance of EO 70 or the “ELCAC” as this program paved the streaming in of projects that resulted in the attainment of peace and order in the communities of the municipality. He added that this program is also being supported by the honorable Governor Edwin I. Jubahib of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte.
Further, he urged the PO leaders to appreciate in their hearts and minds all the projects of the government as it will develop, not only their communities but their personal well-being as well. He encouraged them to value the projects and programs being implemented by the various government agencies and offices of the government as it will certainly keep them away from the lure and persuasion of the NPAs. He pointed out to the PO leaders not be enticed by the attraction of the negative groups as they have not provided roads, housing projects and other huge programs but rather difficulty and trouble.
Furthermore, Mayor Onit expressed his 100 percent support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, particularly to the 56IB currently led by LTC Norman E Valdez because not for their untiring protection and safeguard in the hinterlands of the municipality, the development projects and programs of the government has not been realized in these areas. He added, that is why the LGU’s priority programs start with peace and order-related initiatives followed by infrastructures, agricultural developments, education and health concerns.
Finally, Mayor Onit advised the PO leaders to highly regard all the projects of the government in their respective areas. The good mayor also assisted in the distribution of various agricultural inputs, planting materials and milled rice to all the PO leaders in attendance.
Earlier in his message, Mayor Jonnie A. Libayao acknowledged the presence and thanked heads of partner agencies and offices for their untiring support and provision of projects to the municipality, such as: LTC Norman E. Valdez, Commanding Officer, 56IB; BGen Nolasco A. Mempin, Commander of 1003rd Brigade; Ms. Arlene Bandong, Prov’l Director of TESDA – Davao del Norte; Ms. Joevynar Miedes of PADO-DNIPC; Ms. Kim Saycon, DTI-DDN/ NC Talaingod; Engr.
