CAMP BGEN OSCAR M. FLORENDO, La Union, Feb. 15 (PNA)--At least five Partisan Armed Groups (PAGs) have already been neutralized by the police in the entire Ilocos Region as of February 14 this year, according to Police Regional Director Constante Azares Jr.
Azares said the five PAGs already neutralized were among 11 that reportedly operating in the whole Ilocos Region, comprising Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.
The PNP regional office organized a total of 11 Special Task Groups (STGs) to dismantle and neutralize the identified PAGs within Region 1.
Azares said that for each identified PAG, the police formed a dedicated task group to conduct a deliberate effort for their neutralization.
"The STGs had already drawn up case operation plans directed against the PAGs.†he said.
Azares identified the neutralized PAG members as Dennis Serquina, who was arrested on October 2009; and Warlito Roriquito, arrested in December 2009.
Both are members of the Alvin Flores Group, a notorious criminal gang responsible for the robbery of a Rolex watch store at Glorietta in Makati last year.
Also neutralized were Armando Flores and Nicolas Laroya, both from Pangasinan province; and Alvin Uniag from Naguilian town in La Union.
“Our operatives are undertaking continuous intelligence monitoring of the PAGs’ activities in coordination with other intelligence units,“ Azares said.
