Communist Terrorist Group personalities respond to government’s call

Four communist terrorist group (CTG) personalities laid down their arms and returned to the folds of the law on May 14 and 15, 2022.
Western Mindanao Command Chief Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr. said that the former rebels yielded following the series of civil-military operations conducted by combined elements of the 53rd, 44th, and 42nd Infantry Battalions. Based on the report from the ground, the surrendered personalities submitted themselves to the military at Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Tiogan, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte.
Brig. Gen. Leonel Nicolas, Commander of the 102nd Infantry Brigade said that the former rebels were former officers and members of the defunct guerilla fronts of the Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee. During the debriefing, the surrendered personalities revealed that they experienced hardships and hunger while evading the operating forces in the area.
Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, Commander of Joint Task Force ZamPeLan commended the soldiers and intelligence operatives who exerted much effort on our campaign against terrorism and insurgency in the Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. said, “We continue to call on those who wish to abandon their armed struggle, because the government’s integration program awaits you. There is no greater satisfaction than to live peacefully and happily with your families and loved ones”.
Statistics disclosed that for the first quarter of 2022, a total of 62 CTG personalities surrendered to the government forces in the western and central parts of Mindanao.
