2 NPA Fighters Yield to 87IB
Press ReleaseBrgy Cantato, Paranas, Samar, 02 November 2020 – Two regular members of the communist New People's Army (NPA) formally and voluntarily returned to the folds of the law after they escaped from the hands of their comrades. A certain Alias Sadam, 28 years old and Alias Allan, 27 years old, both residents of Sitio Canpundok, Bgy Lawaan 1, Paranas, Samar voluntarily surrendered to the 87th Infantry (Hinirang) Battalion under LTC REYNALDO B BALIDO JR INF (GSC) PA last Sunday, 01 November 2020. They are both members of Squad 1 of Central Front Samar 1, Sub-Regional Committee “BROWSERâ€, Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (EVRPC).
Alias Sadam turned in one (1) M16 rifle bearing serial number RP147686, six (6) long magazines for M16, 160 rounds of 5.56mm ball ammunition and a bandolier while Alias Allan surrendered one (1) M16 rifle bearing serial number 4643800, one (1) long magazine and one (1) short magazine for M16, 55 rounds of 5.56mm ball ammunition and a bandolier.
LTC BALIDO welcomed the duo and assured them that the 87th Infantry Battalion will do its best to protect them. Hinirang Battalion will also assist them in their claims for assistance from the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the national government and Local Social Integration Program (LSIP) of the Province of Samar and Municipality of Paranas.
Meanwhile, the communist terrorists continue to embrace and practicen inhumane acts as they still hold the three (3) Cabangunays, Cosme and his sons, Jason and Jesie.. It can be recalled that armed NPAs captured the trio at gunpoint in their house at Brgy Canvais, Motiong, Samar last 27 May 2020. According to Alias Sadam and Allan, the Cabangunays are being held by the NPAs against their will, to the extent of torturing them.
Alias Sadam and Alias Allan decided to turn their backs against the New People’s Army and surrender after they learned that their comrades are plotting to kill them as they were suspected of being informants of the military. This is a manifestation that the communist terrorists do not trust their ranks anymore as most of their members are returning to folds of the law and choosing to live peacefully.
