A week before the start of candidates' filing of certificates of candidacy for the May 2013 elections, the Commission on Elections installed a
new Provincial Election Supervisor for Pangasinan.
Atty. Marino Salas, 39, assumed office Monday, replacing Atty. Jennifer Balarbar who served as officer-in-charge of the Provincial Elections Office since former Provincial Election Officer Tim Lambino was promoted as Comelec Regional Director in Central Visayas.
Salas had served as the election officer of the provinces of Ilocos Sur and La Union. He was also sent to the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and once assigned in Tawi Tawi.
He is not a newcomer though in Pangasinan since he once served in Alaminos City when there was a plebiscite.
Salas acknowledged that Pangasinan is a big province but with his vast experience in the poll body "we can do our duties asked of us."
