New Police chief assumes PRO 13 top post
Butuan City, July 2 (PNA) -- A new police top official assumed this morning as the new officer-in-charge of Police Regional Office 13 (Caraga).
Police Chief Superintendent Vert T. Chavez arrived at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, past 8:21 a.m. together with his wife Mrs. Maria Teresa O. Chavez, where he was accorded arrival honors in front of the police regional headquarters administration building here.
The ceremony was attended by top regional police officials consisting of the command group, directorial staff, personal staff and support office, city, provincial directors, RPSB battalion commander, national support units, non-uniformed personnel and some representatives of local government units and the regional police advisory council.
The rites for the assumption of his office followed at the regional headquarters conference room attended by National Police Commissioner Luisito T. Palmera, Atty. Remeneo D. Villanueva, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM 13, Police Regional Advisory Council Chair Judge Emmanuel E. Escatron, Butuan City Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr. and 401st Brigade PA chief Col. Alexander Macario. Giving the welcome message was PSSupt. Pedro U. Obaldo, Jr.; OIC and the acting DRDA. His designation order was read by RPHRDD chief PSSupt. Romaldo G. Bayting.
The new PRO 13 chief then gave his message for the occasion. Following his office assumption rites, the new regional police chief went down to the administration building lobby and gave his message to the police personnel in formation and the other attendees in front of the regional headquarters administration building.
He then availed himself of a media interview before proceeding back to the conference room for his first command conference with the regional police top officials.
PCSupt. Chavez belongs to PMA Class ’85 and a holder of a Masters in Government Management degree. He had been assigned as Police City Director of Naga City Police Office, PRO 5 in 2010 and an executive officer for the Directorate for Intelligence at the national police headquarters in Camp Crame prior to his assumption of office here in the region.(PNA)
