New People’s Army in Talaingod
« on: December 15, 2019, 11:43:34 AM »
PIA DAVAO DEL NORTE—- Talaingod Mayor Jonnie Libayao highly condemns the continued presence of the New People’s Army in Talaingod.

In a phone query this morning, he said the death of a civilian farmer caught in a crossfire on Dec 13 between government troops and armed NPA rebels at Sitio Kaylawa, Sto. Nino, would not have happened if not for the rebels’ continued influence that is bringing harm to the community.

Libayao had released an official statement regarding the incident. His administration had already declared the NPA as persona non grata, and had manifested its abhorence of the NPAs.

Libayao reiterates his condemnation of the “harrassment” initiated by the NPAs as “it inflicted anxiety, distress and fear” among residents in communities of Talaingod. (JMDAbangan)
