National Outstanding Barangay Bagsakan (LGU-Operated Category) in the GAWAD SAKA 2010 Search for Outstanding Achievers in Agriculture and Fisheries, a report of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) provincial office here said Monday.
San Miguel Mayor Edna Bernal is set to receive the presidential award and P350,000 project funding from President Benigno S. Aquino III and top Department of Agriculture (DA) officials during the awarding ceremonies set this week in Manila.

The DA provided the local government unit (LGU) of San Miguel a chest freezer, chiller, meat showcase and other equipment such as weighing scales (upright, hanging and digital), electric meat grinder, electric coconut grater and others. The LGU was also given NFA rice worth P50,000 for retail at the Barangay Bagsakan. =pna
