Aside from its nutritious benefits and livelihood opportunities, the mushroom production project of the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP) of the Department of Agriculture offers rehabilitative benefits to persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in the Butuan City Jail.
The Department of Agriculture-Caraga, headed by Regional Executive Director Arlan M. Mangelen turned over the mushroom production project worth ₱340,000 to Bureau of Jail Management Penology (BJMP) Regional Director JSSUPT Belinda A. Ebora on July 29.
