PNA) – A municipal councilor of Lemery, Batangas was shot dead inside a cockpit in Calaca, Batangas on Monday afternoon, the Batangas Provincial Police Office (BPPO) said.
BPPO Director Sr. Supt. Alberto Supapo identified the fatality as Lemery Councilor Melencio Vidal, 40. He said they were looking at all possible angles of the killing.
Supapo said the incident happened at Sitio Pusaw, Barangay Tamayo Calaca, Batangas at 3:30 p.m.
Initial investigation showed Vidal was going down the stairs of the Tamayo Cockpit Arena when the suspect showed up and shot him in the head with a .45 caliber pistol.
The suspect walked away casually. Vidal was rushed to the Our Lady of Caysasay Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. (PNA)
