Moro and Christian farmers in North Cotabato province
« on: December 11, 2019, 01:32:48 PM »
Moro and Christian farmers in North Cotabato province, among them residents of interior barangays in Kabacan town, have lately been maximizing the utilization of their rice and corn farms, apparently encouraged by the progressing bilateral peace efforts of MalacaƱang and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

Both sides are now together rebuilding conflict-stricken areas in the south, including 63 barangays in North Cotabato, whose provincial governor, Nancy Catamco, a member of the non-Moro indigenous community in the province, is a staunch supporter the government-MILF peace and governance initiatives.

The non-Moro Christian and the indigenous, or non-Muslim tribal groups in Central Mindanao are key stakeholders to all peace and security compacts that the national government and the MILF had reached in tedious peace talks that lasted for 22 years.
