Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Friday reiterated it is searching for five missing fishermen off Zambales.
PRC officials said Barangay Captain Sadernas of Pundakit, San Antonio, Zambales reported to them the five fishermen were missing since January 26, when they left for Capones Island, also located in Pundakit.
The fishermen were reported to have embarked at 5 p.m. on the said date.
PRC Disaster Response Team, headed by Albert Romanban, were deployed in the area for assessment and possible Search and Rescue Operation.
A rubber boat, life jackets, first aid kits, ring buoys and rescue ropes are among the rescue equipments being utilized.
The PRC National Headquarters are also trying to solicit assistance from the Olongapo Chapter Water Search and Rescue team.
The missing fishermen were identified as Hilario V. Mendoza, Ronaldo Talastas, Artemio Monares Jr., Santiago Dulohan and Jerome Dulohan. (PNA)
