A ranking official of the
Maguindanao provincial agrarian reform office narrowly survived a daylight assassination attempt here Monday.
Responding policemen who arrived less than one minute after the crime was committed, arrested the suspect.
Senior Insp. Wally Kasuyo, chief of police of station No. 1, said
Maguindanao provincial agrarian reform officer (PARO) Bing Bacar was shot at close range by lone gunman at about 3:30 p.m. along a busy Quezon Avenue, this city.
Bacar aboard her pick-up vehicle parked near a bakery store while her nephew was buying bread at the bakery.
An unidentified man armed with hand gun approached the passenger side of Bacar’s vehicle and opened fire three times.
She sustained two gunshot wounds in her arms and body and being treated at a private hospital here. Bacar’s driver was also slightly injured. - pna
