LTO opens 3rd driver's license renewal office in Cavite
« on: May 25, 2020, 01:04:52 PM »
IMUS CITY, Cavite -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) opened a driver's license renewal satellite office at Robinson's Place here Thursday morning.

The new satellite office, located at the 3rd floor of the mall, was inaugurated by LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante, LTO-Calabarzon regional director Eric Lenard Tabaldo, Imus City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi and Vice Mayor Ony Cantimbuhan.

In his remarks, Galvante said the LTO plans to open more driver’s license renewal offices across the country to decongest the central and regional offices and serve their clients efficiently and expeditiously.

He said the new driver's license, which the LTO began issuing in October last year, could not be falsified due to 32 security features embedded in the card that could easily distinguish the fake from the authentic license.

The new license renewal office in Imus City is the third to be established in Cavite, after those in Dasmariñas and General Trias. Another office will be opened in Naic next year.

In the Calabarzon region, LTO satellite offices are present in Lipa City, Batangas; Antipolo City and Morong, Rizal province; and Atimonan, Quezon province.

During the inaugural activities, Maliksi was the first client to apply for the renewal of his driver's license, obtaining it in less than 30 minutes.

The renewal of a driver's license costs PHP700, aside from fees for drug test and other requirements.

The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
