More than 150 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the region will join in this year’s Likha ng Central Luzon†trade fair.
Dubbed “Likha ng Central Luzon, Alay sa Kalikasan at Kinabukasan,†the trade fair will be held on October 20 to 24 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Mega Mall in Mandaluyong City.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Blesila Lantayona said a total of 159 MSMEs from Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales have confirmed their participation in the five-day trade fair that will promote crafts and products helpful to the environment.
Presidential sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory Domingo are among the known personalities that will grace the opening of the 12th year trade fair.
The Likha ng Central Luzon is a joint project of the DTI, Philexport 3, and the Regional Development Council and the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation (CLGFI).
The trade fair continues to be an effective venue to promote the best products and crafts of the region’s seven provinces to institutional buyers and exporters based in Metro Manila.
It will feature the One Town One Product (OTOP) program of the seven provinces like the Bulacan’s specialized garments, sabutan hats and bags from Aurora, processed fish from Bataan, footwear from Nueva Ecija, lanterns from Pampanga, crocheted products from Tarlac and sweet potato from Zambales.
Aside from OTOP, the trade fair will also showcase regionally-produced processed foods, home furnishings, ceramics, holiday decors, jewelries and fashion accessories.
Lantayona said another highlight of the fair are the special showcases featuring various newly developed products using engineered bamboo as raw materials.
Bamboo propagation is currently being promoted by the DTI in cooperation with the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham), Advocacy for the Development of Central Luzon, and the Pampanga Provincial Government. (PNA)
