The National Housing Authority (NHA) has allocated P10 million for the site improvement and development of the
permanent housing site by the landslide victims in Barangay San Juan Bano, Pampanga.
NHA project manager Ines Gonzales said the fund will be used for the construction of road pavement, water system, electricity and other facilities in the area where the permanent shelters were constructed and recently awarded to landslide victims.
Gonzales said they have initially released at least P1.5 million to the
local government here to jumpstart the development in the area.
She said the local government of Arayat will also give P2 million for the initial development in the area.
The construction of the facilities and other amenities in the resettlement area will be implemented by this town municipal government.
Governor Lilia Pineda asked the NHA to prioritize the installation of electric posts so that the residents could have connection the soonest time possible.
A total of 57 permanent core shelters were awarded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to
landslide victims on Tuesday.
Maribel Malang Blanco, one of the division chiefs of the DSWD regional office, said they will construct additional 113 units to serve all other landslide victims. - PNA
