A government soldier was wounded when land mines planted by suspected communist rebels along the road in Barangay Anibongan, Lianga, Surigao del Sur exploded, belated report from Lianga police said.
The report said government troopers belonging to the 58th IB Philippine Army on board two ten-wheelers Isuzu military trucks, while on their way to their camp in Lianga on Saturday, hit landmines planted allegedly by undetermined number of New People's Army rebels.
The lone wounded soldier was immediately taken to D.O.Plaza Hospital in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur for treatment. (PNA)
