Kidnap Attempt in Midsayap, North Cotabato
« on: February 21, 2011, 07:10:56 PM »
Four kidnappers were killed and another was arrested when lawmen and civilian volunteers foiled another abduction attempt here on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Midsayap Mayor Manuel Rabara said the gang of four heavily armed men were out to seize hardware store owner Frank Chung when soldiers and policemen, backed by civilian informants, foiled the attempt at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

One of the suspects who was seen approaching the hardware store owner was shot dead by policemen and soldiers.

"He resisted when accosted by lawmen and ran toward his companions in the parked vehicle," Supt. Frank Anito, Midsayap police chief, said.

Soldiers fired at him in the leg but he fled toward a boarding house to hostage student-boarders. But police shot him dead.

Sensing their move was busted, other kidnap gang members sped away using the same vehicle but a pursuit operation resulted in a shootout in the outskirts of Midsayap town about two hours later. - pna

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
