A top official of the National Food Authority (NFA) announced that a shipment of 6,000 metric tons of imported rice is arriving in Zamboanga City.
NFA Assistant Regional Director Rolando Maravilla said the commercial cargo vessel loaded with 6,000 metric tons or 120,000 sacks of rice from Vietnam is set to drop anchor Friday at the local wharf to unload the rice shipment.
Maravilla said the rice will be distributed to the NFA provincial office in the city and other parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula.
The Zamboanga Peninsula NFA office covers the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur and the cities of Dapitan, Dipolog, Isabela, Pagadian, and Zamboanga City. - Sun Star Zamboanga
