The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) here will deploy first aiders to five cemeteries in this city and the municipal cemetery of neighboring Oton town on Thursday.
Gilbert Paul Valderrama, chapter administrator of PRC-Iloilo disclosed that first aiders will be deployed to the city’s public cemeteries in Brgy. Quintin Salas, Jaro district; Jereos in Lapaz and Tanza in Molo.
Upon request, teams will also be placed at the Roman Catholic cemetery in Dungon and the Garden of the Ascension Memorial Park, both in this city’s Jaro district and the municipality of Oton.
He disclosed that around 50 trained volunteers comprising 90 percent of the entire first-aid team have been readied for Thursday's deployment. The rest are organic personnel of PRC.
Three to five first aiders will be stationed in each of the cemeteries to be placed alongside assistance desks of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
