The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will donate 4,667 board feet of confiscated lumber to the
Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Silay City in Negros Occidental.
DENR-CENR officer Arvi Fernando said that the lumber of assorted species will be used to make desks and chairs for schoolchildren.He disclosed that his office has been receiving requests from schools for possible donation of forest products.
Recently, the lumber were placed under custody of the
Sipalay city government pending the processing of documents for the official turnover.
