80 provinces (excludes the now-defunct province of Shariff Kabunsuan)
120 cities (includes: 33 highly-urbanized, 5 independent component and 82 component cities)
1,514 municipalities (includes the 16 former cities whose charters were nullified by the Supreme Court on November 2008)
Outside of Metro Manila, the province with most number of cities is Negros Occidental with 13 including Bacolod which is already classified as a highly urbanized city. While only Pateros is the remaining place in Metro Manila that is still a Municipality.
