Close to 2,000 regular employees of the city government here will receive an additional Christmas bonus of P30,000 each, according to Mayor Jerry P. Treñas.
The bonus doubled the amount that was given last year amounting to P15,000.
Treñas said the bonus will be released Dec. 17 to 19 if the supplemental budget containing the bonuses is approved on Wednesday.
Meantime, aside from regular employees casuals, health, workers, police auxiliaries and traffic aides will also receive P2,500 each.
All barangays captains will be given financial assistance worth P4,000 each while barangays councilors, secretaries and treasurers will each receive P3,000.
Around 25,000 indigents will also benefit from the gift-giving project that is slated before the end of the month. (PNA)
