DAVAO CITY- The Hog Farmers Association of Davao is urging for the government to implement a selective banning of pork meat from ASF areas instead of a total ban from the region as the depopulated hogs account for about 2% of the hogs in the region. Currently the group is promoting pork meat as safe to eat and that ASF is not transferable to humans. Eduardo So, president of HFAD said the misconceptions and stigma could wipe out the hog industry in Davao. (PIA RG Alama)
