Updates on our Multi-species Marine Hatchery and Training and Display Center at Hapitan Mangrove Eco Farm, Brgy. Manhilo, Maasin City, in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
This will seek to address food security, promote productivity and sustainable development of fisheries resources and reduce poverty and inclusive economic growth among the fisherfolk and fishing communities.
The identified lot area is 1,000 square meters. This will allow fry production of a number of marine species such as milkfish, siganid, grouper and invertebrates like abalone and sea cucumber.
The estimated total facility investment cost is about Php 15 million and the city government allocated budget for site development amounting to Php 3.3 million.
