‘One Direction to PUV Modernization’
Press Release: Ormoc City Mayor Richard l. Gomez attended the launching of the Visayas Liner, which took place at the Ormoc City Plaza, today, March 12.
The blessing of the 10 units of buses was officiated by Rev. Fr. James Sean A. Sital.
According to Cleofel G. Marañon, Visayas Liner Manager, fares are Php 225 from Tacloban to Ormoc (vice versa) and Php 262 from Tacloban to Naval (vice versa), and soon, with more trips and destinations in Region 8.
Due to the required ‘social distancing’, maximum capacity of passengers is set at 37 only.
Aside from the fact that the Visayas Liner buses are all brand new and completely airconditioned, they also have Wifi, GPS, and restrooms. They also use the cashless Tripko Cards, which they can get from Visayas Liner Stations in Robinsons Terminal Ormoc, Tacloban Terminal and Naval Terminal, and has a load of a minimum of Php 100 to a maximum of Php 5,000.
Meanwhile, the awarding of Provisional Authority (PA) and Special Permit (SP) was done by Dir. Gualberto, Regional Director of LTFRB 8, with Visayas Ventures lnc., represented by Rainier D. Mancera, President of Visayas Liner, graciously receiving said permits.
City Vice Mayor Leo Carmelo Locsin, Jr., together with SP Member Vince Rama, SP Member Goito Yrastorza, and SP Member Tommy Serafica were also present during the activity.
Visayas Liner is owned by Visayas Ventures, Inc. The two major stockholders of the said corporation are Rainier Mancera (President) and Atty. Ryan Mancera (CFO).
