(PNA) – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) is banking on the support of the city government here to sustain the mobility of its patrol cars.
PRO 6 director, Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr. admitted that the gasoline allowance that is given to local police stations by the Philippine National Police (PNP) is not enough to sustain their daily consumption.
The ICPO for the month of July was allotted 2, 227. 36 liters of gasoline and 163. 37 liters of diesel. The allocation was divided into various sectors to include the ICPO headquarters, six police stations, Public Safety and Management Office and the Traffic Management.
Pagdilao said that the creation of a centralized patrol unit that provides immediate police assistance and the continuous patrolling covering as many areas and streets as possible more frequently have been limited by the lack of fuel resources.
“I’m sure that the city government is also helping that’s why we are very appreciative of the city government support for the city police,†he said.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog confirmed that the city has been providing the ICPO gasoline allowance although it is unlikely that it will be increased next year because there has been no increase yet on the cost of fuel.
City executive assistant Jess Sio said that the city government allotted almost P80, 000 per year for the gasoline consumption of the ICPO.
