The gang war between “Bloods” and “Crips” in Dumaguete and the neighboring town of Sibulan continues unabated with the recent shooting to death of a gang member along Perdices Street, the city's main thoroughfare early dawn Thursday.

Jelo Rosales, 15, and a native of Pamplona, Negros Occidental sustained a gunshot wound at the back of his head that cause his instantaneous death.

Initial investigations disclosed that a chase between two persons ensued from the Quezon Park before bystanders heard a burst of gunfire.

Recovered at the crime scene were a home-made .22 caliber revolver with five live ammunitions, an improvised mask, and an eye spray believed to be owned by the victim.

Early morning of the same day, a sales lady found a deformed slug of a cal. 45 pistol inside a nearby shop where she worked.

Last week, Marlon Huquiriza, a gang member was fatally shot here last week allegedly by rival gang members.

But police records showed that Huquiriza had a pending robbery case in Valencia and was also tagged as among the culprits in a number of robbery incidents in Sibulan.

His companion, Raymond Sakam is presently placed behind bars for illegal possession of firearms. (PNA)
