Grooming the second district as pilot area of countryside development could be the present provincial administration’s “graceful exit for a dramatic entranceâ€, laying down the finishing touches on the needs of the common people.
Governor Erico Aumentado calls it Barangay Master Planning under the Integrated Area Development Strategy, a concept he presented to barangay captains and the municipal officials, who will support them, when he inaugurated and turned over at least eight school buildings in the towns of San Miguel and Inabanga in his trip last week.
For the simultaneous growth and development of all the barangays in the second district, Aumentado has already allocated P1 million for the feasibility study on Barangay Master Planning under the Integrated Area Development Strategy the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) will conduct.
The governor expects replication of the development projects to the first and third districts.
He also proposed the construction of more schools, distribution of brand new computer units with internet connection and other equipment of modern technology, implementation of Gearing Up Internet Literacy and Access for Students (GILAS) in partnership with Ayala Foundation, revival of the Sine-Eskwela in partnership with ABS-CBN.
This is to uplift the quality of education in public schools, so they can stand at par the private and leading institutions.
He also proposed Barangay Road Support Program, completion of the Bohol Circumferential Road Project phase 3 that includes concreting of the roads traversing the towns of Ubay to Mabini, Candijay, Cogtong, Anda and Guindulman or the Anda Peninsula Highway, with funding assistance of P1 billion from the Korean government.-PNA
