DUPAX DEL NORTE, Nueva Vizcaya, Jan. 21 (PNA) – Mayor Clarita Egmin-Epi here said more farm-to-market roads will be constructed in upland villages this year through the assistance of the Department of Agriculture (DA).
She said the Canadem, Buwayo roads, the Tacbao-Bitnung to Bua, Kasibu road, Mantata Macabenga to Masate Kasibu road and the Pag-asa Belance to Bitanay Macabenga road which were submitted as request projects during the visit of Agriculture Secretary Prospero Alcala in September last year are now being validated by the employees of the agency in Cagayan Valley.
The road projects, she said are some of the priority concerns of the local government unit to boost agricultural productivity and help upland farmers in bringing their products to the market.
“Hopefully, these proposals will be given funds so that they will be implemented the soonest possible time,†Epi stressed.
She said the construction of the farm-to-market roads will further boost the town’s agricultural potential.
Their Gawad Kalinga site in barangay Malasin, she added was included as one of the top six Best Bayan Anihan Farm in the country. (PNA)
