The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested suspected drug peddlers in Western Visayas, PDEA officials said Saturday.

PDEA Region 6 Director Paul D. Ledesma said last February 5, drug suspect Ofelia Lomogdang Dedoyco was arrested in a buy bust operation at Garcia Apartment at Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.

After the arrest, the PDEA operatives recovered two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, three lighters, one tooter, one improvised scoop, one pair scissor and one unit mobile phone used in the transaction. All items were recovered inside the home of the suspect.

A follow up operation was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Jimmy Gilapay Vallejera. He was apprehended inside his Mitsubishi Pick-up (LCM 941) at BS Drive, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.

Confiscated from him were more or less 2.5 grams of shabu, P80 cash money and his service vehicle.

Last Feb. 6, another buy-bust operation was conducted with the participation of Iloilo City Police Office-City Anti Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (ICPO-CAIDSOTG) at the vicinity of Barangay Dela Rama, Iloilo City which resulted in the arrest of Rene Esteban Abaya, a drug Watch Listed personality in the area.

Pieces of evidence confiscated from him were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total approximate weight of 0.05 grams, P190 cash and P300 marked money. (PNA)
