(PNA) – A total of 29 cases are now pending in various courts here as a result of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs jointly conducted by the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) through its Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (RAIDSOG), and the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The cases filed stemmed from various operations for the period July 26 when PRO 6 director Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr. declared an all out campaign against violators of the anti-illegal drugs law.
The series of operations netted 33 persons and seized some P213, 000 worth of marijuana and shabu .
Meantime, Pagdilao commended the RAIDSOG and the PDEA for another successful operation that resulted to the arrest of Rene Tumangan and recovery of three big plants of marijuana and several seedlings at Brgy. East Valencia, Buenavista, Guimaras about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
“This one is a small step but I’m sure there is a big implication in terms of what it was able to stop. So we are nipping the rose in the bud. This will serve as a deterrent to those who are thinking that this place might be an area where they can grow marijuana,†he said.
