About 40 doctors and nurses from Michigan, USA will hold a three-day medical mission on January 26 to 29 next year, according to Kiwanis Club of Davao City lady president Eleonor H. Madiclum.
Madiclum said preparations are now in full swing for the medical team arrival and final planning meeting on Dec. 15 at the Davao Medical Center (DMC) here.
He said the January activity will be the fifth year that Michigan doctors have been conducting free surgical operations in Davao City as a way of sharing their blessings to the Davaoeños.
Led by Van Ong, Oscar and Debbie Ong, whose families are from Davao, in coordination with the Kiwanis Club of Davao City, the group has donated hospital equipment like X-ray machines, dialysis machines, hospital ambulance and other surgical equipment.
“Michigan doctors are really happy and ready to share their medical expertise to our doctors here in Davao, Madiclum said.
She said donation of hospital equipment came from the World Medical Relief Inc., Great Ladies of Kiwanis Club of Cosmopolitan Detroit (counter parts of Kiwanis Clubs in Davao City, Division 7 &

The medical mission will include heart by-pass operation, cranio facial, Gyne, thyroidectomy, hernia, cataract and cleft palate.
There will also be a neuro consultation and emergency medical system (EMS) training at the rehabilitation clinic for one day on Jan. 10. - source: PNA
