BACOLOD CITY, July 2 (PNA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) awarded the Citizen’s Satisfaction Center Seal of Excellence to five government service offices in Western Visayas in rites held at Planta Hotel here Wednesday.
Three of the awardees are from Negros Occidental, including the Social Security System (SSS) Bacolod Branch, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) Sagay City, and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Bacolod Branch, which was awarded for the second time.
Others given recognition by the CSC are GSIS Aklan Extension Office and GSIS Roxas Branch.
All winners received a cash prize of P100,000 each.
CSC-Region 6 records showed that of the 79 services offices surveyed, 25 were rated excellent, but only five were chosen as best and given the seal. A total of 42 have a good rating, four passed, four others failed, and subject to another evaluation on the implementation of Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA).
CSC Acting Chairman Robert Martinez, who spoke at the awarding ceremony, said the recognition brings out the competitiveness among service offices in the government in a positive way.
Martinez said that when the CSC started the report card survey (RCS) in May 2011, of more than 70,000 service offices from different government agencies in the country, 230 have already been awarded the citizen’s satisfaction center seal of excellence.
With limited budget, Martinez said they only prioritized and surveyed agencies with most complaints like Land Transportation Office (LTO), SSS, GSIS, and PhilHealth.
“In 2011, almost all GSIS branches in the country failed but now most of them have improved and obtained excellent marks,†he added.
CSC Region 6 Director Rodolfo Encajonado said the agencies recognized for their frontline services were identified by their central and regional offices by conducting inspection on compliance of ARTA provisions.
These offices were validated as excellent in the delivery of frontline services, particularly in terms of citizen’s charter, observance of no-noon break policy, services delivered to special clients like senior citizens, pregnant, and persons with disabilities.
The CSC continues to remind government employees on their duty to provide excellent services to clients as it is mandated by the law, Encajonado added.(PNA)
