— A municipal councilor of Panaon town in Misamis Occidental was arrested by the operatives early Saturday morning for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Unit, Provincial Chief PLTCOL BRYAN M PANGANIBAN said they served a search warrant against councilor Gomer TAC-AN y Galindo issued by HON. ROY P MURALLON, Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 13, Oroquieta City dated August 22, 2022.
“We received information from his constituents that he is in possession and often seen with the caliber of firearms. When we checked with the Regional Civil Security Unit 10 (RCSU 10), we found out that he is not authorized to possess firearms,”.
The operation resulted in the recovery of an unlicensed One (1) unit Caliber .9mm pistol (MAP1) Armscor with SN: AB 47630; Sixteen (16) pcs live ammunitions for caliber .9mm pistol; One (1) pc magazine for caliber.9mm; One (1) pc leather holster color black; One (1) pc sling bag color black (Condura); and One (1) pc magazine for caliber .45 pistol from Tac-an’s residence.
“He is now temporarily detained at CIDG Misamis Occidental PFU Office for documentation and proper disposition while a case for violation of RA 10591 is being prepared for an inquest on Tuesday morning before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office Oroquieta City”.
TAC-AN said that the Caliber .9mm pistol was pawned at him by a certain Manuelito “Dongdong” Sencil, known Drug Lord of Jimenez, Misamis Occidental and in Cebu City who was killed in a shootout during a buy-bust operation conducted by the combined elements from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 7, Regional Special Operations Group 7 and Talisay City Police Station in Palm View Village, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City
TAC-AN has been retired from police service last 2014 and now as a Municipal Councilor of Panaon, Misamis Occidental since November 2016 to date.
