Maguindanao Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu, over the weekend, said that “the provincial relief team has reached far-flung communities, even crossing mountains and rivers, to bring government medical services and relief goods to families affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.â€
[/size]“We also climbed mountains to reach communities in the countryside, and now with the help of the Sultan Kudarat provincial government, we reached and will be reaching out to more communities in the coastal areas to bring the goods to affected families,†Governor Sangki-Mangudadatu said.
[/size]LGU Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat during this pandemic time has pooled their resources to reach out to every residents of the outlying areas in the two provinces.
[/size]With the support system established by the couple officials, personnel in-charge of medical and relief distribution in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat found an easy way to reach out to every residents. Unlike before that the team has to pass areas like Cotabato City and nearby towns of Cotabato province, and taking too much time in travelling to far-flung areas- the coastal towns of Maguindanao like Parang, Buldon, Matanog, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Barira, among others.
[/size]On June 6, Sultan Kudarat’s Floating H[size=1rem]ospital M/V Pax Mers first set sail in Maguindanao province to bring medical equipment and relief goods to Parang town. On board Mindanao’s first floating hospital during the sail were personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard, local officials of Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao and the crew of the Makabagong Maguindanao Medical Team.[/size]
[/size]“Bilang kabahagi ng magandang samahan at partnership ng Maguindanao at Sultan Kudarat Provincial Government, ang dalawang Probinsya ay nangangakong magtutulungan sa lahat ng aspeto ng serbisyo, proyekto, programa at mga adhikaing makakapag-usbong ng kasaganaan, kapanatagan, kapayapaan at kaunlaran sa mga komunidad,†the governor said.
[/size] Sultan Kudarat Governor Suharto Mangudadatu is the Maguindanao governor’s husband. Sultan Kudarat was once a part of the former empire province of Cotabato. It was created as a separate province along with Maguindanao and Cotabato. (AC Agad/PIA 12)
