Rep. Nancy Catamco has called the police in Kidapawan City to identify, arrest and file appropriate charges against those responsible in the killing of her personal driver.
Catamco’s driver,
Jose Duerme Labrador, was sitting in front of his house along Quezon Blvd. here when the gunman wearing black sweet shirt and bull cap, approached him and shot him twice in the head.
Citing witnesses’ accounts,
Supt. Renante Cabico, Kidapawan City police chief, said the gunman made sure the victim was dead before leaving using a motorbike driven by an accomplice. They fled towards Makilala, North Cotabato.
Responding policemen recovered empty shells for cal. 45 pistol.
While police are looking at deeper angles, Cabico said police investigators are looking at personal grudge as the motive.
Earlier in the day, Labrador’s daughter filed a complaint of violence against women and children (VAWC) against her live-in partner before the city police office.
Cabico could not say whether the murder has something to do with the filing of the complaint.
