PNP spearheads symposia on anti-illegal drugs

Tacloban City (31 August 2005) -- In response to the government's thrust on peace and order, the Philippine National Police (PNP), Region 8 under the leadership of Police Chief Supt. Dionisio Coloma, spearheads the implementation of different programs and activities, among which is the conduct of symposia on anti-illegal drugs which is presently one of the priority programs of the PNP.
PNP's Anti-Drugs Special Operations Task Force facilitated the recently concluded symposia on Anti-Illegal Drugs with Police Deputy Director General Ricardo de Leon as guest speaker. The activity was participated in by students from St. Paul's Business School in Pawing, Palo, Leyte and Asian Development Foundation, Tacloban City.
Dubbed as "Pamilya Ko Ayaw Sa Droga", said symposia were conducted to give awareness on the ill-effects of drugs.
According to the reports gathered by the Philippine Information Agency, the activities are part of the PNP's anti-illegal drugs campaign in the region which has gained recognition and remarkable accomplishments.
Meanwhile De Leon's coming to the region is part of his provincial visits which according to him, is the key for effective management.
De Leon is the Deputy Chief for Administration and the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force Commander of the Philippine National Police. (PIA-8)
