"PAGADIAN CITY, Dec. 31 2010 (PIA) -- Lighted Christmas decors are a joy to behold!
The brilliant light displays and lovely holiday decorations from the national government agencies and NGOs have attracted attention from scores of people not only in the city but including its neighboring cites and provinces.
Job Reyes, a teenager from Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur and one of thousands of spectators was very much impressed of the spectacular lighted Christmas decors displayed at Plaza Luz
"Ang mga nagkidlap-kidlap nga mga suga ug talagsaon nga dayandayan sa Pasko nakahatag kanako ug kalipay (The spectacular lights and unique Christmas decors have given me joy." Reyes said in vernacular).
Aida Arao of Sto. Nino District was also impressed of the lighted Christmas decors.
"Dili na kinahanglan nga mogasto ko ug kwarta ug panahon ug moadto pa sa laing dapit tungod kay naa na man tay maanindot nga lighted Christmas decors dinhi." (No need for me to spend money and time to witness lighted Christmas decors in other places because we already have in Pagadian," Arao said in Visayan dialect.)
Engr. Nellie Sisona, chairperson of the lighted Christmas decors said, the activity is one of the highlights of Paskuhan of city government which is held annually to give joy and entertainment to the public.
Sisona said, this year's lighted Christmas decors contest has the folliowing prizes: First – P75,000, second - P50,000 and third – P30,000, while the non-lucky entries will receive consolation prize of P5,000 each.
The entries composed of the following agencies: DPWH, NCIP, DAR, DILG, DA, DepEd, DENR, TESDA-NEDA-OCD, ZAMSURECO-1, and PCWD. (ZamboSur/Region IX, Gideon Corgue)"
