Chinese Tourist Died in Boracay, Philippines
« on: January 29, 2010, 08:30:24 PM »
(PNA)- Police have ruled out foul play in the death of a Chinese tourist here on Wednesday.

While police were still investigating the death of Ren Shao, 28, Chinese national, it did not discount the possibility that the tourist was a victim of a drowning incident.

PO2 Aben Dela Cruz of the Boracay PNP said Shao was seen floating in the beach already dead noon of Wednesday.

"Based on our initial investigation, he swam to the beach alone that morning and nobody noticed that something bad had happened to him," said Dela Cruz.

Bystanders still tried to bring him to a lying-inn clinic in this resort island, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His cadaver was subjected for autopsy as part of the procedure of police authorities in investigating his death.

According to the Department of Tourism, more Chinese tourists had visited Boracay Island since last year. (PNA)
