Local traders are expecting a boost in sales and  earnings during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

They said business activities usually peak during this season as people buy food and things in preparation for the holidays.

"This is the time of the year we’ve been waiting for because we expect to earn more," Angelina Duenas, a market vendor here, said.

Duenas said that among the goods that sell like hotcakes in the market nowadays are candles, flowers, meat, vegetables and fruits.

There is an upsurge in sales and demand for those items because a lot of people, including foreigners are coming here to visit their departed loved ones in the cemeteries, she said.

A wide array of products on sale is seen not only in the markets but also on the streets near the plaza, church and cemetery.

Stalls selling candles and flowers of different colors, sizes and varieties are crowded with people.

Food booths are also being set up near the cemeteries.
