CEBU City Councilor Jose Daluz III proposed a P456,000 allotment in the annual budget of 2011 to finance the new televison show of the Cebu city government.
“The City Council Reports,†is expected to run for 30 minutes from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and again from 11 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The lowest bidder who offered to air the show was Cebu Catholic Televison Network (CCTN).
However, City Hall still has outstanding debts adding up to P1.7 million to seven broadcast stations (P920,112 to ABS-CBN; P189,750 to ABC 21; P240,000 to dyLA; P161,000 to GMA 7/dySS; P130,000 to RPN Channel 9; and P81,000 to dyMF Bombo Radyo).
The debts were incurred during the term of former mayor Alvin Garcia for the City’s cleanliness drive and the City Hall Hotline program.
Mayor Michael Rama already said that his administration would not pay debts from past administrations.
The new television show is one of Rama’s projects to bring City Hall closer to Cebu City residents.
In the show, councilors will be report assessments and developments of government projects and address constituents’ queries and concerns. CDN /Correspondent Jemarie Jane P. Augusto
